Commissions:

Yes, I do take commissions! I love collaborating to turn your vision for a meaningful piece of art into something you can actually hang on your wall and enjoy — hopefully forever. If you’re interested in commissioning a piece of artwork from me, please read the information below thoroughly before contacting me. I am primarily a landscape painter and sometimes a nature illustrator. Please familiarize yourself with my work to make sure that your idea is in line with my style and what I do. Looking forward to working with you!

Schedule:

I open my schedule for commissions just a couple of times a year in order to have time for my other work. Commissions are currently closed. I hope to open them again in the fall for the winter of 2025.

Prices and Payment:

All commissions are priced individually based on size and amount of work involved in the specific piece. However there are a few guidelines to be aware of when it comes to pricing and payment:

  1. $500 minimum for any commission that is 10” or more on the longest side.

  2. $1,000 minimum for any commission that is 18” or more on the longest side.

  3. $50 consulting fee for in person consultations, plus an additional hourly rate of $25 per hour for in person consultations of over an hour.

  4. The total cost will be paid in two parts. Half up front as a deposit, and half upon completion of the artwork. The deposit will not be refunded under any circumstances.

I know this all might sound a little bit intense, but just keep in mind that commissions can be a lot more work than other projects, so prices for them have to reflect this. If you have questions on any of this, don’t hesitate to reach out via email!

Requesting a Commission:

Okay, so here’s the basic process:

  • First, send me an email with your idea/concept. The more information the better. Please include photos, other reference, thoughts on size, and a timeline if you have one in mind.

  • I am happy to take reference photos or paint on location within the White Mountains region — weather and conditions permitting. If the subject you would like me to paint is not within the White Mountains region, I most likely will not be able to travel to paint it and will need to work from a reference photo.

  • Once we agree on a concept, size, and price, you will pay the deposit, and I’ll get to work!

  • For some commissions, I’ll send you a sketch or color studies to look over and approve before getting started on the final piece. In other cases where the idea is straightforward, I’ll simply get started on the final painting.

  • When the final work is done, I’ll send you a digital image of it, we’ll figure out a delivery method, and you’ll pay the second half of the payment. If shipping is necessary, the cost will be added to your total. And, finally, your custom artwork will be delivered!
